A revolution in procurement processes is quietly underway. For a few years, electronic procurement, or e-procurement, has been a requirement for companies wanting to do business with Large Corporates or South African Government. Recently, the SA Government has established a digitized solution namely, The Central Supplier Database (CSD portal), to deal with all phases of the procurement processes within SA.
Even so, for stakeholders already in the game, and for new arrivals, trends in technology are rapidly reshaping how governments and businesses transact business with one another.
As organizations learn how to identify and qualify suppliers, request bids, handle tenders, manage orders, and process electronic invoices, the opportunities are ripe for tech developers to fill a few niches or shortcomings of current solutions.
Through the entity, Procureworld, our business world procurement platform (www.businessworld.co.za) , is evolving into the platform of choice for business opportunities and community engagement.
2017 saw us at LEAP improving the platform to ensure the User Interface and User Experience rivals World Class standards.
This world-class online procurement platform allows buyers to link with new suppliers, who are verified (for compliance and capacity) and rated by other companies using them. At the same time, larger organisations can upload their existing suppliers onto a central database, where all their details are kept up to date.
The Business World automatically manages open or close tender bids for our clients, and procurement officers simply need to award those bids to successful candidates. Transactions on the platform happen immediately, via electronic transfers or credit card payments, and can be either directly with the selected suppliers or via the ProcureWorld. Through ProcureWorld, the quality assurance of the awarded work – to the selected suppliers – is efficiently managed. Any information related to the activities on the platform can also be integrated into e-Purchasing and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Our solution is constantly being improved as the procurement landscape needs become more challenging and desperately require fine tuning. Contact us at LEAP to see how our solutions are able to assist you.
